Our crew has been climbing into attics and crawling under houses in this neighborhood since 2000, and over those 25 years we’ve built a team that shows up on time, works clean, and treats your house like it’s down the road from ours. Our People
Marcus T. – Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Walt’s Insulation for 17 years, which means he’s insulated everything from 1920s Spanish-style bungalows off Santa Monica Boulevard to modern condos near the Sunset Strip. He’s our go-to for spray foam and closed-cell applications, and he holds manufacturer certifications with Icynene and Demilec. What homeowners notice about Marcus isn’t just the clean lines of his work, it’s that he narrates the whole process. You’ll know exactly what he found in your attic, what he’s doing about it, and why it matters. Off the clock, he rebuilds vintage motorcycles in his garage in Culver City. His wife says the garage is better insulated than the house. She’s probably right.
Dana R. – Senior Installer
Dana joined the crew 11 years ago after a career in residential construction, and she’s the reason our crawl space jobs look as tidy as our attic jobs. She specializes in blown-in insulation and radiant barrier installation, and she’s certified with Owens Corning and Johns Manville systems. Dana is also our lead on crawl space encapsulation and vapor barrier work, which means she spends a good chunk of her week in spaces most people never want to see. She says she likes the before-and-after of it, the moment a damp, musty crawl space becomes dry and sealed. Dana lives in Mid-City with a rescue dog named Pippa who has strong opinions about the mail carrier.
Sofia G. – Service Coordinator
Sofia is the voice on the other end of the line when you call (213) 527-4062. She’s been answering our phones for eight years, and she’s the reason you’ll never leave a voicemail at 2 a.m. or 2 p.m. She knows the difference between blown-in and batt insulation, she can estimate square footage off a quick description, and she schedules our technicians so jobs in West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and the Fairfax District run on time. Before Walt’s, Sofia worked in property management, so she understands the language of landlords, tenants, and HOA requirements. She’s also the one who keeps track of the senior and veteran discount, so mention it when you call. She’ll make sure it’s applied.
Leo C. – Apprentice Installer
Leo is the newest member of the crew, three years in, and he’s already earned his OSHA 10 certification and completed manufacturer training with Knauf and GreenFiber. He works alongside Marcus and Dana on attic air sealing and insulation removal jobs, handling the dirty work of pulling old, degraded material out before the new insulation goes in. Leo grew up in East Hollywood and went to Fairfax High, so he knows these streets and the quirks of these houses. He’s also fluent in Spanish, which helps when we’re coordinating with families and property owners across the county. On weekends he plays in a Sunday rec league soccer team, and he claims his cardio from hauling insulation bags up ladders is a competitive advantage.
